Alexandra Kanellopoulou

Alexandra Kanellopoulou  has been heavily involved in community service since she was twelve years old. She first started pursuing this work due to her close relationship with her grandmother, Mary Karela, who is a President of ELEPAP (a non-profit dedicated to serving communities of people with disabilities through rehabilitation, counseling, and other programs). After getting her feet wet in the NGO world through this endeavor, Alexandra began pursuing her own service ventures. Last summer, she volunteered at a school in Krobo, Ghana, where she taught young students and assisted instructors. This experience, along with her inspirations – Bill and Melinda Gates and Muhammad Yunus – convinced her that the most effective way of executing philanthropic goals is by combining social impact ideals with business principles and strategies. Charity is a short-term solution to major global ills; social impact, on the other hand, is change that we can all sustain, believe, and extend far into the future. That’s the dream of this Social Impact Club.
